2011

This year we ventured to Chinchilla for the Melon Festival. After playing in t the parade we combined with the Redland City Pipe Band and the Gold Coast Drum Corps to perform in the Chinchilla RSL.

In March we again put on a fund raising concert for the flood relief appeals.

In May we ventured to EMU Gully ( Via Helidon) for the "Air and Land Spectacular"

July saw the band travel to Wondai for the weekend to participate in the Reserve Forces Day commemorations then in August we performed at Nazareth House and Blue Care Aged Care (Pleasantville) Fete

The Youth band has also been active with performances at the Blue Care Fete, Wynnum Library, Bunnings Hardware and the Blue Care Carols.

QSB Played at the RSL Care Nursing Home "Treetops" in October and at the Algester Bowls Club Remembrance day service on 11/11/11

We again played at the Blue Care Carols and again the senior an youth bands played together. The year finished with a Christmas performance at Nazareth House.

Our logo: The centrepiece is a symbol of our recognition, appreciation and affiliation with civilian community musicians throughout all Commonwealth nations.  Above this are two swords which symbolise our band's rich and historic military heritage.  Below is a boomerang which displays our recognition and appreciation of Australia's First Nations' peoples.  Indigenous Australians played a vital role in our nation's military history and continue to do so, both in our military and throughout society.  Whilst the band operates throughout Queensland, Australia and internationally, we would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land our headquarters are based, that is the past, present and emerging Elders of Quandamooka country.  The logo is encased in our name and it is our aim that the combination of all these elements symbolise our respectful yet dynamic and inclusive ethos.
